Director of Recruitment Strategy / Lead Recruiter
Our client is seeking a Plant Manager/Operations Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary manufacturing facility for a variety of metal fabrication products. They will also assume a central role in leading the continual improvement process in the areas of safety, quality, training, delivery, cost, and manufacturing flow. Possesses in-depth understanding of ISO 9001 QMS system to assure that product and processes are compliant to internal, industry, and customer quality standards.
Responsibilities for the Plant Manager include:
- To have full responsibility for the manufacture of all products and projects and will lead, coach and manage manufacturing teams while driving a "Can Do" philosophy across operations with full commitment to delivery, cost and quality
- The Plant Manager is part of our client's Management Team; A critical role in the leadership reporting to the GM.
- Report and evaluate performance metrics for labor, productivity, scrap, rework, and schedule.
- Responsible for plant scheduling, manpower and resource planning.
- Develop, implement, and actively manage daily/weekly/monthly production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders, proper labor loading, and efficient use of equipment and resources. Proactively identify scheduling conflicts and adjust priorities as needed.
- Lead role in site security and facilities management (Including preventive maintenance) and ensure a safe work environment consistent with OSHA requirements
- Manage, develop, and grow the manufacturing operations in line with targeted growth areas
- Lead lean improvement projects and manufacturing in support of business objectives and deliver results
- Optimally manage manufacturing inventory (Raw Materials, Work in Progress and Finished Goods) in line with budgeted and anticipated business levels
- Continually benchmark best practices and document lessons learned so as to continue the growth of operations and manufacturing
- In-depth understanding of ISO 9001 process; Assure that product and processes are compliant to internal, industry and customer quality standards
- Ensure manufacturing metrics are tracking the appropriate measures and implement critical changes needed to maintain metrics as set levels
- Develop and work with Management Team to develop job descriptions, skill/training matrix, and development plan for work categories and pay structure throughout the firm
Education and Experience
- B.S. Engineering - Industrial, Manufacturing, Operations, Business Management
- Metal Fabrication/Welding Experience/Knowledge. General fabrication knowledge including forming, cutting, welding and machining
- Experience in ASME, AWS, Structural or other metal fabrication codes and standards
- A minimum of five (5) years in a Managerial position
- Project Management and accountability skills including budgets, costs, quality & scheduling with excellent organizational and planning skills
- Ability to read specifications & drawings; knowledge of materials
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and metrics to drive scheduling, productivity, and continuous improvement decisions.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and demonstrated ability to manage shop floor scheduling through system tools.
