MissionHires is partnering with a leading automotive manufacturer to hire a Plant General Manager for a complex manufacturing facility in Maple Heights, OH (on-site). The Plant GM will own end-to-end plant operations, including safety, quality, delivery, cost, and P&L performance. This leader will drive KPI- and data-driven execution, champion Lean/TPS and continuous improvement, and develop high-performing operational teams to meet customer requirements, new program launches, and budget targets.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage all plant operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets
- Lead P&L performance, meet budgets, and manage financial results to plan
- Set, track, and manage plant KPIs and operational targets; drive data-driven decisions
- Analyze plant budgets to identify and execute cost reduction opportunities
- Ensure production schedules are met at or below budgeted costs and to specifications
- Direct method, planning, and process changes to meet or exceed forecasts and control costs
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures; enforce and model safe work practices
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean, TPS, and structured problem-solving methodologies
- Ensure customer requirements are consistently met; proactively resolve customer issues
- Develop and execute plant manufacturing strategies for financial and service commitments
- Lead, mentor, and professionally develop operational leaders and staff
- Oversee quality systems and adherence to TS-16949 policies and procedures
- Plan and lead successful new program launches within the plant
- Maintain a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance
- Coordinate cross-functional alignment to support production, maintenance, quality, and logistics
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required
- Recent experience managing an automotive manufacturing plant
- Demonstrated success in complex manufacturing operations
- Training/certification in Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System (TPS), or other structured problem-solving methods
- Proven track record delivering strong continuous improvement results
- Proficiency with P&L, balance sheet, and financial reporting
- Experience operating within data- and metrics-driven management systems (KPI/scorecards)
- Familiarity with TS-16949 policies and procedures
- Successful new program launch experience in automotive manufacturing
- Strong talent selection, development, and leadership of professional staff
- Excellent decision-making, interpersonal, and team motivation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate effectively
- Commitment to rigorous safety standards and compliance
- On-site presence in Maple Heights, OH (no remote)
