Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our growing manufacturing organization. This hybrid role is responsible for overseeing all financial operations across two manufacturing locations while partnering closely with executive leadership to drive strategic financial decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing finance background, extensive cost accounting experience, and a proven track record of leading accounting teams in a fast-paced production environment.
This individual will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, improving operational performance, and supporting long-term business growth.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting and financial operations for two manufacturing facilities.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes while ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Manage cost accounting functions, including production costing, inventory valuation, standard costing, and variance analysis to maximize profitability.
- Develop and oversee annual budgets, long-term forecasts, and financial models to support strategic planning.
- Partner with plant leadership and executive management to improve operational efficiency, manufacturing performance, and pricing strategies.
- Monitor key financial metrics and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability and reduce costs.
- Oversee cash flow management, working capital, capital expenditures, and investments in equipment and facility improvements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, financial regulations, tax requirements, internal controls, and manufacturing reporting standards.
- Coordinate external audits and serve as the primary contact for auditors, banking partners, and tax professionals.
- Analyze financial performance and present reports and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve reporting efficiency through technology and best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or another related field required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Controller in the manufacturing industry required.
- Strong background in manufacturing accounting, including cost accounting, inventory management, and financial analysis.
- Experience overseeing financial operations across multiple facilities or business units preferred.
- Previous leadership experience managing and developing accounting or finance teams.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to executive leadership and operational teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CMA designation preferred.
