Internal Essential Functions
Apply GAAP controls to plant financial operations, ensuring adherence to internal controls (including SOX). Optimize profit, protect company assets by assessing financial risks and opportunities, and lead local budgets and forecasts while communicating results to the organization.
- Plan, monitor, and authorize capital expenditures, aligning investments with company strategies. Ensure accurate recording of write‑offs, retirements, asset valuations, and CIP accounts on the plant ledger, and collaborate with commercial controllers, managers, and engineers to align forecasted expectations.
- Ensure inventory is accounted for in line with GAAP requirements, supervise and audit inventory verification events, and collaborate with Materials Supply Chain teams to report and optimize any cycle‑count adjustments.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, semi‑annual, and annual ledger closing activities, reconciling assigned accounts and ensuring accruals and journal entries are accurate with adequate backup.
- Prepare and evaluate variance analyses for sales through EBIT accounts, summarizing performance by plant and product platform, and develop management reports for local and corporate management.
- Prepare, develop, and review financial budgets and forecasts, leading budgeting assumptions for the plant and reviewing profit plans with local management and corporate operations.
- Successfully pass statutory, SOX, and internal audits by maintaining key controls and providing necessary evidence.
Additional Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute additional financial information as required.
- Support ad‑hoc requirements from corporate staff departments in Legal, Tax, HR, and other areas.

Required Education Level
Bachelor's degree (equivalent work experience may also be considered).
Required Qualifications
- 3‑5 years of experience in financial and business management or a similar controller position.
- 1 year of experience within the automotive industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- QAD or similar ERP knowledge.
- HFM / Hyperion / Smartview experience.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Cost accounting awareness.
- Ability to work well with diverse groups of team members.
- Assertive communication skills.
- Internally motivated.
