The Plant Controller will oversee all plant-level financial activities including cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all plant-level financial reporting, analysis, and cost accounting activities
- Partner with plant leadership to monitor and improve operational performance, margins, and cost structure
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and management reports
- Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans
- Monitor manufacturing KPIs , including labor efficiency, scrap, material usage, and overhead absorption
- Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with corporate financial policies
- Support inventory management, standard costing, and cycle count processes
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and operational improvements in partnership with operations and engineering teams
- Provide financial guidance for capital investment projects and ROI analysis
- Lead plant financial audits and ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements
- Supervise and develop plant accounting staff as applicable
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
- 7–10+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience within manufacturing environments
- Strong experience with plant-level cost accounting and manufacturing finance
- Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities
- Advanced Excel and ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Ability to partner effectively with operations leadership and cross-functional teams
