THE NUMBERS TELL A STORY.

YOU'RE THE ONE WHO WRITES IT — AND HOLDS EVERYONE TO IT.

DuraServ is looking for a Plant Controller who owns the full accounting function for manufacturing, distribution, and emerging businesses — with the financial acumen to lead, the credibility to influence, and the standards to never compromise.

Plant Controller | Corporate Finance | Manufacturing. Distribution. Full P&L Accountability.

DuraServ Corporate | On-Site Role | 25% Travel | Supervisory Responsibility

This Is Not a Reporting Role. It's a Leadership Role.

DuraServ is expanding beyond its core dock and door service business — into manufacturing, distribution, and emerging business divisions that require a financial leader who can do more than close the books. They need someone who can translate complex operational data into business intelligence, build the financial infrastructure for a scaling enterprise, and lead a team to execute at the highest level of accuracy and accountability.

As Plant Controller, you own the full accounting function across manufacturing and distribution operations — general accounting, inventory management, standard costing, variance analysis, financial close, budgeting, forecasting, and audit coordination. You lead a team. You partner with operations leadership. You serve as the financial voice in the room when business unit leaders make the decisions that shape profitability.

If you've built financial infrastructure in a manufacturing environment, led a team to an unassailable standard of accuracy, and earned the trust of operations leaders who don't want an accountant — they want an advisor — this role was built for you.

What You'll Own

The Financials

  • Oversee all direct accounting functions — general accounting, inventory, and financial analysis including standard costing, production variances, material usage, and margin analysis
  • Guarantee the accuracy and timeliness of the monthly close process — your name is on the financial statements, and you hold that standard without exception
  • Develop financial forecasts, measure actual performance against plans and budgets, and identify the key drivers behind every variance with enough clarity that a non-financial leader can act on it
  • Analyze and interpret financial results, translating complex data into narratives that inform business decisions — you communicate with precision to both financial and operational audiences

The Operations Partnership

  • Maintain and lead all inventory processes — cycle counts, physical inventory, reserves, obsolescence, WIP, and reconciliations between operations and finance — zero tolerance for unexplained variances
  • Partner with business unit leaders to support strategic decision-making, surface cost-reduction opportunities, and advise on process improvements that improve organizational performance
  • Track and report operational KPIs alongside financial results, supporting plant leadership with the visibility they need to make informed, timely decisions
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination for internal and external auditors, taxing authorities, and legal entities — organized, responsive, and compliant

The Team & Infrastructure

  • Lead the accounting team — managing hiring, workload allocation, performance management, training, and development; you set the standard by modeling it
  • Develop, implement, and maintain documented accounting policies and procedures with a robust system of internal controls that mitigates risk before auditors find it
  • Drive ERP optimization and implementation efforts, ensuring accounting systems support operational scale and financial reporting requirements

Who You Are

You hold the financial function to a standard that operations leaders respect and auditors can't challenge. You lead through credibility — earned in the details, demonstrated in the boardroom.

  • A manufacturing accounting expert — you understand standard costing, production variances, WIP, and inventory reconciliation at a level that earns credibility on the plant floor, not just the conference room
  • A financial translator — you convert complex data into clear narratives that non-financial leaders can understand and act on; your reports don't require a decoder ring
  • A people leader — your team performs at a high level because you set the standard, develop their skills, and hold them accountable without micromanaging
  • A strategic partner — operations leaders come to you not because they have to, but because your financial perspective makes their decisions better
  • An infrastructure builder — you've designed accounting policies, implemented controls, and participated in ERP implementations that created stability and scale
  • A compliance anchor — auditors find nothing because you built the controls that prevented everything; your documentation is current, complete, and defensible
  • Analytically relentless — variances don't go unexplained, budgets don't go unexamined, and forecasts don't go unchallenged on your watch

Required

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with demonstrated leadership responsibility
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing financial operations
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel for financial modeling and variance analysis
  • Experience managing a financial close process and delivering accurate, timely monthly financial statements

Preferred

  • Manufacturing industry accounting experience — standard costing, WIP, production variances, and inventory reserves in a plant environment
  • ERP system experience with direct involvement in an ERP implementation or optimization initiative
  • Experience partnering with operations leadership as a strategic financial advisor, not just a reporting function
  • Background in distribution or multi-entity accounting environments

What's In It For You

  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience and leadership scope
  • Full benefits package: medical, dental, vision, and 401K with company match
  • Company-provided life insurance, short-term and long-term disability
  • A financial function to lead and shape — the systems, the controls, the team, and the standard are yours to build
  • Strategic partnership with both corporate finance leadership and operations leadership — your seat at the table is real
  • Direct exposure to a growing enterprise expanding into manufacturing, distribution, and emerging business lines
  • 25% travel — enough engagement with the operations you support to be genuinely effective

A Direct Note to the Right Candidate.

If you've been the financial leader who built the controls others rely on, translated the numbers that operations leaders actually understood, and held a close process to a standard that auditors couldn't touch — you know what this role requires.

DuraServ is building something. The manufacturing and distribution functions are growing, the financial infrastructure needs a leader who can scale with it, and the operations team needs an advisor they trust — not just a controller who closes the books.

Lead with winning confidence. Set a gold standard of performance. This is where both happen.
