I'm partnering with a large, publicly traded industrial manufacturing organization on a highly visible Controller opportunity supporting one of the largest capital investments in the company's history.
This is an opportunity to play a key financial leadership role on a multi-billion-dollar greenfield construction project, with a clear path into a Plant Controller position once the facility transitions into operations.
Why this opportunity stands out:
- Lead the accounting and financial governance for a landmark capital project valued at approximately $4 billion
- Clear succession path into a long-term Plant Controller role upon project completion
- Partner directly with senior project leadership, corporate finance, procurement, engineering, and construction teams
- Join an established Fortune 500 manufacturing organization known for investing in its people and operations
- Outstanding benefits including 4 weeks PTO, strong retirement plan with generous company match, comprehensive healthcare, paid parental leave, volunteer time, and annual bonus
What you'll be responsible for:
- Lead all project accounting, financial controls, and governance for a major capital construction project
- Oversee construction-in-progress (CIP), fixed assets, accruals, capital and cash calls, and monthly close activities
- Ensure SOX compliance and maintain strong internal controls throughout the project lifecycle
- Partner closely with Project Controls to support forecasting, cost tracking, and financial reporting
- Support internal and external audits while maintaining audit readiness
- Lead and mentor the accounting team while collaborating across engineering, procurement, operations, and executive leadership
- Help design the accounting processes that will ultimately support an operating manufacturing facility
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with prior leadership responsibilities
- Experience leading teams in manufacturing, chemical, industrial, energy, or similar capital-intensive environments
- Strong project or construction accounting experience
- Experience supporting large capital projects, ideally $50M-$100M+ in value
- Deep understanding of financial controls, compliance, fixed assets, and project accounting
Compensation:
- Base salary up to $180,000
- 12.5% annual bonus
- Excellent benefits package
This is an exceptional opportunity for an accounting leader who enjoys building processes, partnering with operations, and making a meaningful impact on a transformational capital project while positioning themselves for long-term leadership within a world-class manufacturing organization.
