Responsibilities
- Complete and present month-end financials – ie Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss
- Ensure accuracy of plant inventory – Raw, WIP, finished goods, supplies, etc. Ensure cycle counts are completed to ensure no large write-offs are required during annual physical inventory count and sales understand what is produced to ship.
- Ensure Bills of Material are as accurate as possible. Work with Engineering to make updates
- Analyze production hours to meet efficiency goals
- Test overhead rates annually and determine amount of under/over absorption based on prior year or budget. Work with CFO to determine required rate adjustment
- Book all entries for capital assets and ensure asset listings are accurate
- Manage accounts receivable, credit and collections. Ensure new customers are pre-qualified.
- Measure purchasing savings and report on initiatives that are driving cost lower
- Oversee the payables process and ensure controls are in place for all invoice types. Work with plant personnel to ensure invoices are coded correctly and approved
- File personal property, sales and use tax as required
- Complete the annual budget with the General Manager. Track progress and provide updates to all departments.
- Update dashboard information in conjunction with month-end financials
- Support cap-ex projects and complete IRR analysis as needed
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years’ experience as a Controller
