In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S.This project is of significant scale and complexity, and our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery this year. The candidate for this position will start on a short-term assignment working from the home office in Reston, VA and then will later mobilize to the jobsite in Cheyenne, WY.Job SummaryIn this role, you will lead a team of planners and work with the project team to prepare schedule data for contract negotiations and project execution. The Planning Manager is accountable for schedule development, maintenance, forecasting, and monitoring activities.

You will be instrumental in ensuring projects stay on track and on time. In addition to supervisory responsibilities, you will also have regular interfaces with senior internal and customer stakeholders.Major ResponsibilitiesAccountable for the development, maintenance, and forecasting of the project scheduleEstablishes operational objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to subordinatesCommunicates with senior project management overall schedule progress, opportunities, and challengesRegularly interacts with the clientPerforms schedule development duties to include establishing the work breakdown structure (WBS), determining the work activity duration, establishing the proper workflow logic ties, and developing the required job expenditureIdentifies schedule trends for management attentionDetermines critical-path activities for the projectDevelops critical path schedule reports and schedule performance metricsIdentifies, reports, and analyzes activities that have a critical or potential impact on the scheduleMonitors and analyzes subcontractor schedulesEvaluates subcontractor schedules for required workarounds or potential schedule improvementsEnsures schedule updates are provided on time to support project reporting requirementsEducation and Experience RequirementsRequires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in engineering, construction management, business, or related field and 15+ years of relevant experience or 19+ years of relevant work experience5+ years of supervisory experience and demonstrated skills in applying team building leadershipRequired Knowledge and SkillsExperience in delivering large-scale combined cycle power projects or similar process plantsExperience in delivering fully integrated EPC projectsAdvanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by BechtelSignificant experience of leading, managing, and organizing teams of diverse backgrounds and experience to meet project objectivesAdvanced skill in Primavera P6 and proficient in Microsoft Office 365 software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Excellent skill in oral and written communication, including experience presenting information to internal and external stakeholdersAbility to take initiative in project related tasks and coordination with various stakeholders, including senior managementTotal Rewards/BenefitsFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
