PL/SQL Developer

Job Title: PL/SQL Developer (Oracle)

Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid)

Position Overview

We are seeking a PL/SQL Developer with 8+ years of experience in Oracle database environments to support enterprise applications. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain database structures, PL/SQL code, and robust data integrations. You will serve as a core technical member collaborating with Data Architects, DBAs, and vendors to integrate agency-specific data with vendor-hosted Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Database & Code Development: Design, build, and maintain Oracle database objects (tables, views, indexes, triggers) and write high-performing PL/SQL packages, procedures, and functions.
• Integrations & Web Services: Develop and consume REST/SOAP web services to enable secure data flows between internal applications and vendor-hosted COTS systems.
• Data Modeling & Migration: Lead data modeling (logical/physical), normalization, and data migration/conversion efforts for new implementations and system upgrades.
• Performance & Quality: Collaborate with DBAs on query tuning and code reviews; analyze metadata and enforce data integrity and agency standards.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Perform root-cause analysis on complex data issues, implement solutions, and actively contribute to technical design, estimation, and project planning.

Key Requirements (8+ Years)

• Oracle & PL/SQL: Advanced expertise in PL/SQL development and database object design.
• Database Tools: Daily proficiency with tools such as Toad or Oracle SQL Developer.
• Data Architecture: Strong background in logical/physical data modeling and database normalization.
• APIs & Migration: Hands-on experience with REST/SOAP integrations and complex data migration scripts.
• COTS Systems: Proven track record supporting or integrating vendor-hosted/COTS enterprise applications.
