PK-5 Instructional Coach/Interventionist, Non Affiliated
Forest Area Community Schools is seeking an instructional coach. Forest Area Community Schools is a small district in northern Michigan which serves around 500 students, PreK-12, in the communities of Fife Lake and South Boardman.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver job-embedded and research based professional learning on high yield instructional practices, and classroom integration
- Ensure high-quality Tier 1 instruction through support of adopted curricula (CKLA, Math Expressions) with attention to fidelity and appropriate adaptation
- Build educator capacity in proactive classroom management frameworks, including routines, expectations, co-regulation strategies, and relationship-centered practices
- Lead coaching cycles (modeling, observation, feedback, and reflection) to improve adult instructional practice, classroom management, and student learning outcomes
- Support FLE in administering and interpreting assessments
- Guide educators in using academic data to inform instruction
- Facilitate data review protocols with district and building teams
- Conduct 1-2 daily targeted intervention sessions in ELA for students
- Implement a coaching model that supports the multi tiered system of supports framework
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Education preferred; must hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate or state licensure as a School Psychologist or School Social Worker.
- Minimum 5 years of successful experience in education
- Experience with CKLA and Math Expressions curriculum implementation and coaching preferred
- Knowledge of Science of Reading
- Experience facilitating adult learning and professional learning/development preferred
