This role balances hands-on engineering with team leadership, project oversight, and client engagement.The ideal candidate has strong experience in pipeline design and hydraulic modeling, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is comfortable interacting directly with clients on active projects. This position will play a key role in delivering high-quality designs while mentoring junior engineers and helping scale the team.What You Will DoLead pipeline engineering projects from concept through construction supportSupervise and mentor a small team of engineers and designersDevelop pipeline alignments, bore profiles, and utility coordination designsCollaborate with and support surveyors and survey teamsProvide site development support to facility engineersDevelop and file utility permit packagesPerform hydraulic modeling for gas and/or liquid pipeline systemsInterface directly with clients, supporting project delivery and relationship developmentOversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverablesEnsure design quality, consistency, and adherence to industry standards and regulationsKey ResponsibilitiesManage and support direct reports, including mentoring, performance management, and technical developmentPrepare and review engineering designs including pipeline alignments, HDD designs, and utility conflict resolutionDesign site development plans, including grading, stormwater management, etc.Perform and review hydraulic modeling for pipeline systems (gas, water, or similar)Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for design development and plan productionSupport development of cost estimates, bills of material, and project scopesCoordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomesParticipate in client meetings, including direct interaction with higher-tier clients alongside senior leadershipEnsure compliance with applicable standards, including working knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192Contribute to process improvements and internal standards developmentRequired Qualifications5–10 years of experience in pipeline engineering or related fieldBachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited programStrong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3DExperience with hydraulic modeling software (gas, water, or similar systems)Advanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExperience leading projects and providing technical oversightStrong communication skills and ability to interact directly with clientsExperience supervising or mentoring junior engineers/designersPreferred QualificationsExperience in natural gas pipeline engineering (gathering, transmission, or distribution)Familiarity with GIS platforms and data integrationExperience with HDD design and permitting processesExposure to multi-disciplinary projects (civil and mechanical coordination)Experience working with larger clients or complex infrastructure projectsProven ability to lead small teams in a fast-paced, project-driven environmentBenefits & Total RewardsEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)Competitive salaryHybrid schedule (2 remote days/week after introductory period)Health, dental, vision401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysTuition reimbursementMentorship programPE support
