At WECTEC Staffing Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, we recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset and we seek to identify, attract and recruit the most qualified talent while recognizing and encouraging the value of diversity in the global workplace.About the RolePipeline Engineer Salt Lake City, UT 12 Months Pipeline Engineer is responsible for the design of high-pressure steel natural gas pipelines for the Feeder-Line Replacement program, ensuring all analysis, installation, commissioning, operability, and integrity regulatory requirements and company standards are met or exceeded, including Code of Federal Regulations Part 192.Key ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities include providing technical and design support for pipeline routing and layout, determining block and tap valve placement, and designing pipeline crossings for rivers, interstates, and highways using open dig or trenchless construction methods.
The role requires knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices. Additionally, it involves ensuring compliance with these regulations.
The role also involves performing engineering analyses of pipeline stress. These analyses consider various factors, including internal pressure, external loads, thermal expansion, soil loads, seismic effects, etc. Additional duties include specifying pipe materials and coatings, procuring materials, preparing and submitting engineering documentation (including calculations, forms, and checklists), tracking project schedules and monitoring budgets. Develops pressure test procedures and supports commissioning activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design drafting (for construction drawings), right-of-way agents (for easement & property rights coordination), cathodic protection engineers (for corrosion control systems), and environmental specialists (addressing wetlands, wildlife, and cultural resource considerations).QualificationsA bachelor's degree from an accredited college in mechanical or civil engineering is required, along with 4–7 years of relevant experience.
