PipefitterThis full-time pipefitter role focuses on cutting, repairing, and replacing pipes and piping systems within a shipyard environment. You will work from blueprints, handle various piping systems and pressure levels, and ensure high-quality installations and repairs that meet safety and operational standards.ResponsibilitiesCut, fit, repair, and replace pipes and piping systems in a shipyard environment.Perform pipefitting work accurately from blueprints and technical drawings.Measure, layout, and align piping systems to specified dimensions and tolerances.Install, modify, and test various piping systems operating at different pressure levels.Inspect existing piping systems to identify defects, leaks, or wear and determine appropriate repair methods.Select appropriate materials, tools, and equipment for pipefitting tasks.Ensure all work complies with applicable standards, safety procedures, and shipyard requirements.Collaborate with other trades and team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly handle tools and equipment.Document work performed as required by shipyard procedures or supervisors.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years of pipefitting experience in a shipyard or similar environment.For 1st class roles, at least 7 years of marine pipefitting experience with a stable job history.For 2nd class roles, 3 to 4 years of marine pipefitting experience.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.Hands-on experience cutting, repairing, and replacing pipes and piping systems.Experience working with various piping systems and pressure levels.Proficiency with pipefitting tools and equipment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Ability to work safely and follow established safety procedures in a shipyard setting.Additional Skills & QualificationsMarine pipefitting background, preferably in a shipyard environment.Demonstrated stable employment history in pipefitting roles.Ability to collaborate effectively with other trades and team members.Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing piping issues and determining repair solutions.Capability to work independently with minimal supervision once tasks are assigned.Why Work Here?You will join a local shipyard that offers steady, full-time work and the opportunity to apply and grow your marine pipefitting skills.
