- Hospital‑employed, outpatient only position
- Minimal call required

Responsibilities
- Provide medical patient care by interviewing, examining, and treating clinical patients to meet their medical needs
- Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources to patients and families
- Determine which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs
- Determine level of urgency of follow‑up, referral/consultation appointments
- Exercise final medical judgment in all issues of health care
- Prescribe medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients
- Order studies, tests, and ancillary services
- Document all services in the patient medical record
- Review on a regular basis long‑term cases that require ongoing medical attention
- Consult with the Medical Director and other staff on patient care, assessment, and education issues
- Participate in process improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the hospital or clinic
- Oversee mid‑level medical staff as assigned and nursing clinical staff
- Assist in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations
- Demonstrate commitment to providing outstanding customer service to all patients in a manner reflective of mission, values, and customer service standards
Qualifications
- BC/BE in Pediatric Medicine
- Current and unrestricted state medical license as MD/DO and DEA licensure
- Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques
- Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; effective verbal and written communication; proper telephone etiquette
- Commitment to providing compassionate and quality patient‑centered care
- Must maintain all requirements for medical staff privileges
