Position Overview

Radiation Oncologist specializing in CNS, Thoracic, GI, and GU cancers to join the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Academic rank and track will be commensurate with academic record and experience. The physician will deliver patient care within the standard policies and protocols of the Medical Center.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings, including conducting ambulatory clinics.
  • Interview patients, obtain and review medical history, and perform physical examinations to assess medical or surgical needs.
  • Perform radiation therapy procedures and order necessary diagnostics and ancillary services.
  • Respond to consultation requests and determine, prescribe, and implement treatment plans.
  • Document all services and instructions in the medical record.
  • Educate patients and families about wellness, prevention, and early detection.
  • Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities.
  • Serve as preceptor and provide bedside training for residents, fellows, students, nursing staff, and allied professionals.
  • Ensure continuing medical education requirements are met.
  • Participate in departmental, college, medical center, and university committees and other service activities.

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO); board certified or board eligible in Radiation Oncology.
  • Completion of an accredited residency and, if applicable, fellowship training program.
  • Current or interim permit to practice medicine from the State of Ohio Medical Board.
  • Board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Radiation Oncology.
  • Active certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
  • Sub‑specialty board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Radiation Oncology preferred.
