Physician-Psychiatrist (Outpatient)

Overview

A recruitment/relocation incentive may be offered to highly qualified candidates. The Psychiatry Service Staff Psychiatrist provides comprehensive psychiatric care to Veterans referred for Mental Health services within the Psychiatrist's approved privileges. In addition to Veteran care, the Psychiatrist may have responsibilities in other areas such as education and research. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).

Duties

• Provide psychiatric care in an outpatient setting, identifying Veterans' mental and medical health needs and designing diagnostic and therapeutic plans to meet these needs.
• Serve as the medical subject matter expert within the assigned team, coordinate activities of other health service personnel, resolve problems affecting Veteran care, and provide appropriate education for the Veteran and/or family members regarding the Veteran's care, condition, and its management.
• Provide care in accordance with VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guidelines as measured by the Peer Review Program and various quality metrics.
• May have responsibilities in education and research.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, and regular salary increases.
• Paid Time Off: 50‑55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year, and possible 5 day paid absence for CME).

• Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
• Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am‑4:30pm (shift flexibility may apply).
• Relocation/Recruitment Incentives (Sign‑On Bonus): Authorized by Facility/Agency. EDRP authorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive.
