PHYSICIAN - PRIMARY CARE - WESTMORELAND COUNTY

The Primary Care Physicians at Independence Health provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment forchronicdisease management, acute care needs, with a preventative care focus.Outpatient clinicalresponsibilities include Physicals, Annual Wellness Visits, and Well child checks,Paps, procedures,and initialdiagnosisworkups,acute carevisitsand chronic care follow-up visits (asdeterminedbyevidencedbased medicine practices and patientneeds), outpatient office call rotation requirements. Physiciansutilizehospitalist services for inpatient care. The Physicians collaborate with other members of the care team including Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and other clinical and non-clinical staff in the team-based outpatient office setting to provide high quality care. The physicianis responsible forbeing a provider leader in the team-based care setting, supervisionof APPs, teaching,system stewardship,and modeling behaviors of excellence and compassion in the primary care setting.

Required Qualifications/Experience

• Graduate of a medical school accredited by the LCME or ADA, OR
• Graduate of AMA governed fifth pathway program, OR
• Graduate of a medical school not otherwise mentioned with valid ECFMG certification AND graduate of accredited family medicine residency program.
• Graduate of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency program.
• Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
• Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

• Model the ACGME six (6) core competencies.
• Experience in Healthcare setting.

License, Certification & Clearances

• Current medical license in the state of Pennsylvania.
• Board certification in Family Medicine by ABFM or AOA or Board Certified in Internal Medicine by ABIM.
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the America Heart Association (CPR and AED) program.
• Valid DEA License.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
• Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
