Physician - OB/GYN Hospitalist - Grand Rapids, MI

Overview

Corewell Health's Women’s Health Service Line is expanding and seeks to add an OB/GYN hospitalist physician to our growing Core Faculty team at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. This full-time position requires 152 shifts per year with 12-hour inpatient shifts and a competitive rate per shift. Collaborative, physician-led shift scheduling. Opportunity to maintain GYN skills/major/minors. This service supports our academic OB service, uncovered OB and GYN patients, coverage for MFM patients, and night coverage for a community-based clinic, as well as the outpatient residency practice. The Core Faculty team provides primary teaching of residents and medical students, and supervision of residents/medical students is a key component of this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide OB/GYN hospitalist coverage in a high-volume labor and delivery unit.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including certified nurse midwives and MFM specialists.
• Participate in academic activities, including supervision and teaching of residents and medical students.
• Engage in evidence-based, patient-centered care and strive toward quality initiative goals.
• Contribute to scheduling and shift coverage planning, with a focus on work-life balance for the team.

Qualifications

• Required Doctorate (MD or DO).
• LIC-Physician (MD) – State of Michigan Upon Hire or LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) – State of Michigan Upon Hire.
• CRT-DEA Registration – State of Michigan Upon Hire.
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA or ARC, 120 Days required.
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA, as required by specialty or stress test performed, 120 Days required.
