Physician, Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA)

Surry County Detention Center | Dobson, NC
Schedule
Flexible | Up to 3 Hours Per Week | Onsite
What You'll Do
- Conduct onsite patient evaluations and follow-up visits
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions
- Review and oversee medical care provided by nursing staff as appropriate
- Prescribe medications and treatments within your scope of practice
- Collaborate with an experienced multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Ensure accurate, timely documentation and compliance with correctional healthcare standards
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant license in good standing
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain if required for prescribing)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong assessment, clinical decision‑making, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with nursing staff
- Correctional, emergency, urgent care, family practice, or primary care experience is helpful but not required
