Job Summary and Responsibilities
Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (PCS part of CommonSpirit) is actively seeking a highly motivated PRN Maternal Fetal Medicine physician for our team in Tacoma, WA.
Position Overview
Our women’s health group includes 9 OB/GYN physicians, 18 CNMs, 6 MFM, 1 urogynecologist, and 2 gynecologic oncologists. We provide evidence‑based outpatient and inpatient care to the greater Puget Sound area.
The role is primarily outpatient clinic based with occasional call duties. Providers typically care for 0‑4 patients per month, performing procedures such as cerclages, amniocentesis with CVS, and fetal echocardiograms as needed. Full support is available from MA and nurse staff, as well as sonographers and specialty services.
Hospital Overview
St. Joseph Hospital is a 375‑bed Level II trauma center with 24/7 laborist and anesthesia coverage, and a Level III NICU capable of caring for infants as young as 22 weeks.
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient Maternal‑Fetal Medicine care.
- Perform cerclage placement, amniocentesis with CVS, and fetal echocardiograms.
- Manage antenatal care for 0‑4 patients per month.
- Assist with call duties as required.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including CNMs, sonographers, and specialty specialists.
Qualifications
- MD or DO, Board Certified or Board Eligible (must achieve BC within first two years).
- Active Washington State medical license.
- DEA, NPI, and prescriptive authority.
- Current BLS for Health Providers certification by the American Heart Association.
Benefits
Pay Range: $256.35 per hour.
