Opportunity Overview

Rush invites applications for the position of Transplant Hepatologist, Program Director of Transplant Hepatology Fellowship.

Key Responsibilities

• Render care to Hepatology patients at Rush main campus and regional sites for the Rush Solid Organ Transplant program, managing a team of eleven Advanced Practice Providers and thirteen clinical faculty.
• Provide clinical leadership across all phases of transplant hepatology—pre-transplant, peri-transplant, and post-transplant—emphasizing efficient, evidence-based, guideline-driven care.
• Ensure full compliance with Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) regulations related to patient evaluation, ongoing care, data collection and submission, and clinical outcomes.
• Lead and oversee quality improvement initiatives to enhance care processes and outcomes throughout the transplant continuum.
• Allocate time: 70% clinical effort, 20% administration as Program Director, Transplant Hepatology Fellowship, and 10% pre‑transplant administration.

Qualifications

• Fellowship trained in Transplant Hepatology.
• BC/BE in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology.
• 5–10 years of experience.
• Current faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor (or equivalent) at an accredited medical institution. Exceptional Assistant Professors with strong scholarship, leadership, and national recognition will also be considered.

Compensation

Pay Range: $403,740 – $500,000.
