Physicians will provide all urgent and chronic care to the adult population of Orange County Jails, including women's health and prenatal care to obstetric (OB) patients. Physicians must be skilled at making good clinical judgments based on physical diagnosis and perform a wide range of office based, outpatient procedures such as: femoral venipunctures, skin biopsies, sutures, ingrown nail removals, incision and drainage, pap smears, colonoscopies, etc. Additionally, the Physician II will provide clinical supervision and oversight of four (4) Nurse Practitioners (NP).The ideal candidate will have one (1) or more years of experience working in triage/urgent care, mental health, or correctional medicine type of setting. Some of the areas considered in the background screening include prior convictions, traffic violations, drug use and credit problems, employment history, professional references, and education verification (i.e. degree, license, or official transcripts).
