Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is seeking a Physician Hospitalist to join an established Hospital Medicine team in Auburn, California. This role involves managing a diverse patient census within a hybrid/open ICU model, supported by various specialties. - Hybrid/Open ICU model; PMA supports 7 AM–5 PM; Hospitalists/Nocturnists manage ICU after 5 PM including critical care and procedures
- Census: 10–14 patients per Hospitalist on average
- Specialty Support: 24/7 General Surgery & Orthopedics; Cardiology on-call 24/7 with 2 hours daily rounding; Nephrology; Tele-Neurology (24/7); Tele-Stroke (24/7); Tele-Psychiatry; Urology (occasional); PMA consults 7 AM–5 PM
- Nights: Covered by Nocturnists
- 1.0 FTE
Responsibilities
- Manage ICU after 5 PM including critical care and procedures
- Perform central lines
- Perform intubations
- Admissions during day shifts
Compensation
- Base guarantee $323,930 with productivity and quality components
- Base Compensation (Guarantee): $323,930
- Productivity: $50/RVU above 4,300 RVUs, reconciled quarterly
- Quality Bonus: $25,000
- Sign-On (Commencement) Bonus: $100,000 total — $50,000 at start + $50,000 at 12 months
- Relocation Assistance: Up to $20,000
- Differentials: $40/hour night shift differential; moonlighting differential available
- Full-time annual compensation is $323,930+ bonuses and differentials

Requirements
- Board Certified/Eligible in Hospital Medicine (e.g., ABIM/ABFM via ABMS as appropriate)
- Strong commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care and team-based practice
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable practicing in a Hybrid/Open ICU environment
- Able to perform central lines and intubations
- Open to FM-trained candidates with demonstrated ICU comfort
- Valid medical licensure in the State of California prior to starting
