Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Oncologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in oncology and a passion for providing exceptional patient care. This role involves diagnosing and treating patients with cancer, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to clinical research initiatives. The Oncologist will play a crucial role in developing treatment plans, managing patient care, and supporting patients through their treatment journey.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients through comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on the latest clinical guidelines and research.
- Administer chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and other oncological treatments.
- Collaborate with other specialists including surgeons, radiologists, and pathologists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and side effects management.
- Participate in clinical trials and contribute to research efforts aimed at improving cancer treatments.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Engage in health coaching to promote lifestyle changes that can aid in recovery.
Skills
Job Requirements:
- You must be Board Eligible (this means you need to finish your training within the last 3 years and become Board Certified within 1 year of starting the job) or Board Certified in Hematology - This is required.
- You must be Board Eligible (finish training within the last 3 years and become Board Certified within 1 year of starting the job) or Board Certified in Medical Oncology - This is required.
- You need to have a license to work in Iowa and Illinois (or be willing to get one) - This is required.
- You need to have DEA verbal confirmation (or be able to get it before starting) - This is required.
- You need to have a CSR/CDA (or be able to get it before starting) - This is required.
- It is preferred that you have a clean malpractice record .
