About Position

Provider will provide care at the PACE Burlington and PACE Pittsboro facilities.

• Work Locations: 1214 Vaughn Rd, Burlington, NC 27217 & 163 Chatham Business Dr, Pittsboro, NC 27312
• Facility Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
• Provider Availability/Scheduling Needed: Part‑Time Scheduling Options Available – 24 to 32 hours per week

Job Summary

Primary responsibility: provide direct primary medical care to all participants of the program.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Perform comprehensive history and physical on new referrals.
• Conduct preadmission health assessment for initial acceptance into the program, including program‑identification and care planning.
• Perform interval history and physicals on established participants completed quarterly or as indicated.
• Evaluate and treat participants with episodic illnesses.
• Manage all care of participants in the nursing home: provide regular visits, perform telephone contacts with nursing staff, admit nursing home participants to hospital when necessary.
• Actively participate in family conferences.
• Participate as a member of the IDT.
• Coordinate 24‑hour care delivery.

Qualifications

• Geriatrics fellowship training preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited school of medicine and at least 5 years clinical Physician experience. 2‑3 years of experience with frail or elderly patients strongly preferred.
• Proven clinical leadership.
• Able to get along with others in a team environment.
• Able to deliver service to physicians, patients, and fellow employees with compassion in a responsive and courteous manner in accordance with PACE policies and procedures.
• Must have the ability to effectively handle difficult and unusual interpersonal situations.
• Only act within the scope of authority to practice.
• Meet a standardized set of competencies established by Piedmont Health SeniorCare and approved by CMS before working independently.

Employees Supervised

None, except clinical precepting of Advanced Practice Provider staff.

Licensure Required

Current license to practice medicine in NC. Valid NC driver license and reliable transportation.

Immunizations

Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up to date prior to beginning employment.

Pay Range

$170,336 - $228,918 (commensurate with years of experience).
