Job Summary

Geisinger, a nationally recognized leader in innovation and quality care, is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join our team in Lewistown/State College PA. The region’s premiere Gastroenterology Group located in State College and Lewistown (Western Region) is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join our stable team of 8 physicians and 5 APPs. Position is due to growth and demand. This dedicated high‑level, high‑volume practice includes interventional endoscopy and hepatology and is integrated with the larger health system.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care across a fully integrated health system with a robust electronic health record (EPIC)
• Teach fellows, residents, and medical students and participate in clinical and endoscopic research as faculty of the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including embedded pharmacists for management of HepatitisC and Inflammatory Bowel Disease
• Collaborate with specialists in surgical specialties (Thoracic Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Colorectal Surgery), interventional radiology, and oncology services

Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (required)
• Licensure: Licensed Medical Doctor – State of Pennsylvania
• Experience: Certification(s) and practical experience in gastroenterology
• Skills: Patient care and procedural skills, professional etiquette, systems‑based practice, interventional endoscopy, and hepatology
