In partnership with the University of Arizona, the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is hiring an ABIM board certified/eligible Transplant Hepatologist to join our program in this vibrant academic setting. The role focuses on providing comprehensive transplant care to patients with end‑stage liver disease and managing a busy Advanced Liver Disease practice. The physician will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, participate in selection committees, lead quality assurance initiatives, and be actively involved in education and research.

Position Details
- Academic, inpatient and outpatient practice
- Team: 6 hepatologists, 10 gastroenterologists, 3 advanced practice clinicians, and fellows
- Level 1 trauma center, 733‑bed hospital in the Phoenix metro
- Work schedule: Mon‑Fri 7:30 am‑5:00 pm
- 1:5 unrestricted call rotation (including weekend/holiday)
- On‑site cutting‑edge technology such as vibration‑controlled transient elastography and magnetic resonance elastography
- Robust clinical trial program with investigator‑led studies
- Essential functions: upper endoscopy procedures, colonoscopy, evaluation of patients with chronic and end‑stage liver disease, and management of pre‑ and post‑transplant patients
- Teaching and mentorship of internal medicine and gastroenterology residents, fellows, and medical students
- Presentation at departmental/ divisional meetings and national conferences
Responsibilities
- Provide pre‑ and post‑transplant care for patients with end‑stage liver disease
- Manage a busy advanced liver disease outpatient practice
- Perform upper endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures as billed
- Participate in the transplant selection committee and quality assurance initiatives
- Engage in education and mentorship of residents, fellows, and medical students
- Lead and participate in clinical and translational research, including presentations at national meetings

- ABIM BC/BE Transplant Hepatology
- Fellowship training in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology
