Physician, Division Chief, Pediatric Cardiology

Division Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and Director of the Children's Heart Center

The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership to advance excellence in pediatric cardiology across clinical, academic, and educational domains.
• Develop and support a robust research enterprise, including clinical, translational, and outcomes‑based investigations.
• Recruit, mentor, and promote faculty, fostering academic career development and scholarly achievement.
• Expand educational programs for medical students, residents, and fellows, with a strong commitment to teaching and mentorship.
• Lead strategic program development and regional outreach to enhance access, quality, and innovation in congenital heart care.
• Represent the division in national academic societies and contribute to collaborative research networks and multicenter initiatives.
• Engage in institutional leadership and contribute to the broad mission of the health system and affiliated academic programs.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
• Eligible for state medical license.
• Completed a pediatrics residency program and a pediatric cardiology fellowship program.
• Board certified in Pediatric Cardiology; eligibility for academic appointment at associate or full professor level.
• Distinguished record of scholarly achievement, including peer‑reviewed publications and/or funded research.
• Demonstrated success in academic leadership through program development and faculty mentorship.
• Collaborative leadership style with ability to integrate clinical, research, and educational priorities.
• Strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within academic medicine.

Scheduled Weekly Hours

40 hours.
