Procedural Scope

Cranial Neurosurgery

  • Craniotomy for tumor resection (primary and metastatic brain tumors)
  • Awake craniotomy for eloquent cortex lesions
  • Stereotactic brain biopsy
  • Surgical clipping of intracranial aneurysms
  • Arteriovenous malformation (AVM) resection
  • Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt placement and revisions
  • Endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV)
  • Evacuation of subdural and intracranial hematomas

Endovascular Neurosurgery

  • Mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke
  • Endovascular coiling of intracranial aneurysms
  • Flow diversion and stent-assisted procedures
  • Embolization of AVMs and dural arteriovenous fistulas
  • Diagnostic cerebral angiography

Neurotrauma

  • Craniotomy/craniectomy for traumatic brain injury (epidural/subdural hematomas)
  • Decompressive craniectomy for elevated intracranial pressure
  • External ventricular drain (EVD) placement
  • Management of traumatic intracranial hemorrhage

Shift Details

  • Schedule: Clinic, Day, Shift + Call
  • Call: 1:4 rotation
  • Trauma Level: Level III
