Practice Specifics
Will join an established, highly regarded Colorectal and General Surgery practice for both outpatient and inpatient/OR settings. The practice is committed to providing comprehensive Colorectal and General Surgery care, coordinating care with necessary departments. The department includes 7 general surgeons, including fellowship trained hepatobiliary, colorectal and endocrine surgeons, along with 10 NP/PA’s. The busy, established department includes general, robotic, endocrine, colorectal, breast, bariatric, advanced laparoscopic, endoscopy, colonoscopy. Large mix of cases. Rural surgery residency training program. Regional referral center. ACS Cancer Center.
Surgeries/Admissions: St. Mary's Medical Center – a 380-bed tertiary hospital, consistently ranked among America's Top 100 Hospitals, certified as HIMSS EMRAM Level 7 for both inpatient and ambulatory facilities. Miller-Dwan Medical Center – 175-bed specialized care facility. St. Mary's Hospital Superior – 25 beds, critical access hospital accredited trauma program/Level I Trauma Center.
Position Description
Full‑time position is needed due to planned retirement. The selected candidate will focus on colorectal surgery and supplement his/her practice with general surgery cases as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide colorectal surgery in outpatient and inpatient/OR settings.
- Supplement practice with general surgery cases as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- BC/BE in General Surgery.
- Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery; ABCRS certified or eligible.
- Proficient in the full spectrum of colorectal surgery.
- Excellent clinical and communication skills and a strong commitment to team-oriented care.
Location
150 miles north of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area. Regional service area 460,000; city of Duluth population 86,000.
Compensation
$511,000. Hired candidates may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of bonuses, quality incentives or production-based compensation.
