Job Summary

Radiology Associates of Florida, a Radiology Partners practice, seeks a dedicated part‑time Body/IR Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team at Tampa General Hospital. The selected candidate will perform procedures in the well‑equipped procedure suite adjacent to our faculty‑staffed offices and provide inpatient consultations for IR and Body procedures.

The position is intended to support staffing during periods of vacation, medical leave, or other absences. The PRN NP or PA will be cross‑trained in Body and IR to ensure flexible coverage as departmental needs arise. Hours are variable based on departmental needs; a minimum availability of one day per week is anticipated.

The role will provide comprehensive pre‑ and post‑procedure care for a variety of conditions, serving both inpatients and outpatients. Most of the workload will involve ultrasound‑guided procedures, including paracentesis, thoracentesis, superficial fine needle aspiration, and core biopsies. Opportunities for CT‑guided procedures are also available. Work will be shared among three other advanced practice providers, with additional mentorship of PA students from the University of South Florida during their rotations.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound‑guided procedures (paracentesis, thoracentesis, fine‑needle aspiration, core biopsy).
• Conduct CT‑guided procedures as needed.
• Provide pre‑ and post‑procedure care for inpatients and outpatients.
• Rounding and collaborating with existing Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and residents.
• Participate in mentorship and supervision of PA students.

Desired Professional Skills and Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program.
  • Current NP/PA license and certificate of authority to practice in the State of Florida.
  • Board certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Comfortable performing procedures (on‑the‑job procedural training will be provided).

Compensation

The salary range for this part‑time position is $120,000–$130,000 annually. Final determinations may vary based on education, experience, certifications, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, Radiology Partners offers a competitive benefits package, including health and wellness coverage options, 401(k) benefits, and other benefits such as family planning and telehealth.
