Physician AssistantThe Physician Assistant (PA) cares for our patients within the scope of training and approved the agreement, as outlined by their governing board. Works collaboratively with other providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow and a high level of patient satisfaction. This position works directly with a franchised business location. The specific job duties and benefits can vary between franchises.Benefits include 401(k), competitive salary, dental insurance, flexible schedule, health insurance, paid time off, parental leave, profit sharing, and a signing bonus.Responsibilities include performing complete, detailed, and accurate health histories, reviewing patient records, developing comprehensive medical assessments, and ordering laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies appropriate for complaint, race, sex, and physical condition of the patient. Also includes formulating medical and nursing diagnoses and instituting therapy or referrals of patients to the appropriate health care facilities, agencies, and other resources of the community or physician. Emergency measures and emergency treatment or appropriate stabilization measures in situations such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisoning, and allergic reactions are also part of the job. Interpreting and analyzing patient data to determine patient status, patient management and treatment, providing instructions and guidance regarding health care and health care promotion to patients/family/significant others, and other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications include excellent communication with staff, patients, and family, professional appearance and attitude, ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA Board Certified – (with 1 yr ER/UC experience preferred), active and current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of practice, DEA number, and state-controlled substance certificate, as required, and the ability to multi-task and work independently.American Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest primary and urgent care companies in the U.S., providing services seven days a week on a walk-in basis.
