PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT, CF - Pleasant Valley State Prison (PVSP)

Job Description

Physician Assistant, Correctional Facility (CF) reports to the Chief Physician and Surgeon of the CF and is responsible for assessing and managing the health care needs of patients in ambulatory, inpatient, and specialized clinical settings at Pleasant Valley State Prison.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage the health care needs of patients in ambulatory, inpatient, and specialized clinical settings.
• Perform physical examinations and therapeutic procedures.
• Interpret routine laboratory and imaging results.
• Educate and counsel patients regarding matters pertaining to their physical and mental health.
• May be assigned call duties with backup supervision by a physician manager.
