Medix is partnering with a premier regional orthopedic practice to recruit a dedicated, high-performing Physician Assistant to join their expert clinical team. This dynamic role offers a balanced combination of surgical first-assisting and direct outpatient clinic care. Schedule
Full-Time: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Split Structure: 2.5 days surgical assisting and 2.5 days outpatient clinic per week
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary first-assistant in the operating room across a high-volume surgical schedule, including sports medicine, arthroscopic procedures (shoulder, knee, hip), and general orthopedic cases.
Manage end-to-end perioperative workflows, including surgical prep, wound closure, post-operative orders, and patient rounding at affiliated hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs).
Travel to designated regional clinics and surgical centers as needed to accommodate patient care schedules.
Drive outpatient clinical care by evaluating new injuries, managing follow-up care, interpreting diagnostic studies, and performing therapeutic joint injections.
Build and independently manage a full patient panel, expanding the regional footprint and fostering direct practice growth.
Collaborate seamlessly with supervising physicians and the broader care team to ensure continuity of care between the operating room and outpatient clinic.
Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program.
Active Physician Assistant license and necessary credentials in good standing.
Minimum of 2 years of dedicated orthopedic experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced clinical experience in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine.
Specialized exposure or experience treating conditions of the joint, hand, or foot and ankle.
Demonstrated history of surgical first-assisting in high-volume settings.
