Job Summary
We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) with experience or strong interest in outpatient cardiology to join a growing ambulatory cardiology practice. This role works closely with cardiologists to deliver high-quality cardiovascular care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including patient histories and physical exams
- Evaluate and manage patients with cardiac conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and hyperlipidemia
- Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests (EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter/event monitors, labs)
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with cardiology physicians
- Prescribe medications and manage ongoing therapy per clinical guidelines
- Provide patient education regarding disease management, medications, and lifestyle modifications
- Document all clinical encounters accurately in the EMR
- Coordinate care with referring providers, imaging, and ancillary services
- Support quality initiatives and clinical protocols within the cardiology service line
Qualifications
Required
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Active PA license in (State)
- NCCPA certification
- Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred
- Outpatient cardiology experience (1+ year preferred, but strong new grads considered depending on training)
- Experience with EPIC or similar EMR
- BLS/ACLS certification
