Physician - Addiction Medical Director

Job Overview

AtlantiCare, a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipient and southeastern New Jersey’s largest health system, is seeking an experienced physician with ABPM certification to serve as system-wide Medical Director of Addiction Services.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with scheduled appointments and clinic hours two days a week.
• Dedicate one day each week to program development, including overseeing pharmacotherapy services and management of other providers.
• Serve as addiction medicine specialist consult throughout the system and for patients admitted for medical stabilization.
• Oversee outpatient bridge clinics and collaborate with two FQHC programs.
• Provide policy and strategy for AtlantiCare’s Healing Atlantic County initiative to combat the opioid epidemic.
• Lead system-wide addiction medicine service line, establishing standards and recommendations for evidence‑based improvements.

Qualifications

• Board certified in Addiction Medicine (ABPM).
• Experienced physician with a strong track record in building or leading substance use programs.
• Ability to provide strategic consult on addiction medicine and passion for community healing.
