Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and collaborative Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a full school-year contract assignment within the Hermiston school network . The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide therapeutic interventions that support student mobility, physical development, and functional independence in the school environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy interventions according to student IEPs and established treatment plans.
• Implement therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve mobility, strength, coordination, balance, and functional skills .
• Monitor and document student progress and communicate updates to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists, teachers, special education staff, and parents/guardians .
• Assist with positioning, mobility, and safe participation in school activities.
• Maintain and safely use adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and mobility tools .
• Follow school and therapy protocols to ensure a safe and supportive environment.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Oregon PTA license in good standing.
• PTA experience in a school-based, pediatric, or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, educators, therapists, and families.
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship.
