Role Overview
The Physical Therapist provides comprehensive physical therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform treatments such as muscle strengthening, stretching, heat/cold therapy, gait training, and ADL training based on physician prescriptions.
- Evaluate patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
- Document patient progress, communicate with healthcare team, and coordinate care with nurses and physicians.
- Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aids.
- Contribute to program development, quality improvement, and departmental policies.
- Maintain supplies, equipment, and ensure safety and infection control protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (required after 2015) or equivalent.
- Licensed Physical Therapist, BLS certification, valid driver’s license, and auto liability insurance.
- Strong decision-making, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical activities, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and adapt to various working conditions.
- Proficiency in electronic documentation and resource management.
Physical & Working Conditions
Must have adequate strength, mobility, and stamina to assist patients and perform physical activities. Work environment is primarily well-lit and climate-controlled, with exposure to infectious agents and potential emergencies.
