Physical Therapist - PRN (As Needed) - Home Health - Clarendon

Work Schedule: PRN (As Needed)

Reports To: Clinical Manager

Supervises Others: No

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing physical therapy services in accordance with the physician’s written orders and interacting daily with patients, family members, agency personnel, and physicians.
• Directly accountable to the McLeod Home Health Administrator; functions within agency and unit policies, manages own time productively and independently, and complies with attendance and reporting requirements.
• Demonstrates knowledge of state therapy laws, federal and state home‑health regulations (Title XVIII, Part 405), ACHC, JCAHO, and related regulatory issues, and applies conflict resolution and customer‑relations techniques.
• Demonstrates expertise in communication and interpersonal relationships, possesses excellent writing and computer skills, and applies strong organizational, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Functions in an office setting that requires standing, walking, sitting, use of office equipment, manual dexterity, good hearing and eyesight, and physical activity such as walking, standing, bending, lifting and carrying objects up to fifty pounds, including driving.
• Handles potential safety issues for staff and patients in all settings; demonstrates maturity, self‑motivation, initiative, and ethical professional behavior; communicates effectively with a diverse population; maintains accurate data collection, record completion, and follow‑up.
• Familiarizes with principles of growth and development over the lifespan and assesses patient data to interpret requirements relative to each patient’s age‑specific needs to provide appropriate care.

Qualifications

• Zero to one year of related work experience.
• Must possess a current valid South Carolina driver’s license and automobile insurance as required by law.
• Must be at least 21 years old to be covered under McLeod Health’s fleet vehicle insurance policy.

Licenses and Certifications

• Active South Carolina license in Physical Therapy.
• Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
