Job location: New York, NY 10025
Shift: 8:30-4:30 M-F
Pay: $40- $45/hr
Length: 3 months, Possible extension
Requirement:
Bachelor's degree. Master's preferred
1+ year of experience
Current New York State Physical Therapy license
Duties:
- Performs initial examinations, establishes goals, plans and implements treatment interventions, and modifies goals and treatment interventions as needed.
- Coordinates with other disciplines when indicated and completes all documentation requirements, including initial examinations, progress notes, monthly summaries, and discharge summaries.
- Provides training to families, care partners, and medical personnel as indicated.
- Recommends appropriate durable medical equipment and writes letters of medical necessity when indicated.
- Participates in discharge planning, makes recommendations for continued physical therapy, and provides home exercise programs when appropriate.
- Attends appropriate conferences, rounds, in-services, meetings, and assigned clinics.
- Assumes additional patients when coverage is necessary based on staffing needs.
- Maintains therapy attendance records, patient charges, and statistics.
- Participates in the supervision of Rehab Patient Care Associates, volunteers, and students.
- Maintains current APTA membership and follows all policies and procedures.
