Perfect. Read on…What You'll DoAs a PHP/WordPress Developer at Mad Genius, you'll build performant, scalable, and secure web experiences that empower our clients to stand out online. You'll take design concepts and transform them into robust custom WordPress themes, plugins, and integrations.
You'll collaborate with designers, strategists, and back-end engineers to deliver solutions that are clean, maintainable, and optimized for speed and accessibility. You'll apply modern PHP standards, follow WordPress best practices, and contribute to technical discussions that elevate our development processes. And you'll (possibly) live happily ever after.What You'll NeedMinimum 3+ years of professional experience developing with PHP, WordPress, and related web technologiesStrong expertise in building custom WordPress themes and plugins from the ground upDeep understanding of WordPress core concepts, hooks, actions, filters, and the template hierarchyExperience adapting pixel-perfect frontends from FigmaSkilled in working with REST APIs, third-party integrations, and custom API endpointsComfortable with version control using Git and collaborative workflowsFamiliarity with WP CLI, debugging tools, and performance profilingUnderstanding of security best practices in WordPress (role capabilities, sanitization, nonces, etc.)Experience with headless WordPress or advanced integrations (preferred, but not required)A commitment to writing well-documented code and participating in code reviews.This role is open for in-house or hybrid candidates.
