Job Type: local contract
Contract Length: 3 Months + Contract to Hire
Pay Range: $17 to $19/hr
*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.
Job Description :
- Perform venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles.
- Collect, label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, store, and package specimens.
- Collect urine and fecal specimens as required.
- Explain blood draw and specimen collection procedures to patients.
- Verify physician orders, requisitions, patient information, and specimen labels for accuracy.
- Ensure proper specimen handling, storage, and transport to maintain specimen integrity.
- Perform equipment maintenance, decontamination, and required documentation.
- Follow established laboratory, OSHA, and DEP procedures.
- Complete required annual department training.
- Handle telephone inquiries and provide laboratory information as permitted.
- Assist with troubleshooting, training, and workflow improvement.
- Pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy experience required.
- 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
