The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood specimens, ensuring accurate patient identification, maintaining specimen integrity, and delivering exceptional patient care in a professional healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures.
- Verify patient identity and accurately label specimens.
- Prepare, process, and transport laboratory specimens.
- Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and HIPAA regulations.
- Accurately document patient information and specimen collection details.
- Provide excellent customer service and patient care.
- Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of a Phlebotomy Training Program preferred.
- Current Phlebotomy Certification.
- Minimum 2 year of recent phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong venipuncture and specimen collection skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hospital, laboratory, or outpatient clinic experience.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR).
- Knowledge of laboratory specimen handling and processing procedures.
