Position Details:
  • Job Title: Phlebotomy - Phlebotomist III - Floater
  • Location: 621 S New Ballas Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63141
  • Contract Duration: 3+ months contract with possible extension
  • Hours: 40 hours/week
  • Shift: 6:00 AM-6:00 PM, Monday-Friday
Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) represents the face of the company to patients who come in for routine health needs or life-defining health decisions. The PSR III draws quality blood samples and prepares specimens for laboratory testing while following established practices and procedures.
The position involves direct patient contact and creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and performing blood collection in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices and procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information and initials, including obtaining patient signature after venipuncture to confirm proper tube labeling.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
  • Work at multiple locations and provide coverage at Patient Service Center/In-Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.
  • Adapt to training locations based on trainer availability.
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections .
  • Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime .
  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to communicate openly with peers, supervisors, and patients.
  • Ability to adapt to and embrace change.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent - Required
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training - Preferred
  • Phlebotomy certification - Preferred
    • Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
  • 3 years of phlebotomy experience - Required , including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Minimum 2 years of Patient Service Center experience - Preferred
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment - Preferred
  • Keyboard/data entry experience
