Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, geriatric, and forensic specimen collections following established procedures.
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing while ensuring specimen integrity.
- Verify patient identity and demographic information before specimen collection.
- Label specimens accurately in the patient's presence and obtain required patient initials/signatures after venipuncture.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Follow all company policies, safety protocols, and confidentiality standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by creating a positive patient experience.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Travel to multiple Patient Service Centers or physician offices as needed with minimal notice.
- Perform daily duties accurately and independently under the direction of the Area Supervisor.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required .
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred .
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required only in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience including:
- Venipuncture
- Pediatric collections
- Geriatric collections
- Capillary collections
- Two years of Patient Service Center (PSC) experience preferred.
- Previous customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Basic keyboard and data entry skills.
- Excellent phlebotomy and specimen collection skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to prioritize work in a high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Superior customer service and patient care skills.
- Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and clean driving record, if travel is required.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, on-call shifts, and multiple locations based on business needs.
