Phlebotomist I
We are seeking a Phlebotomist I to join our team in Gardendale, AL. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and delivering excellent patient care. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection following established procedures.
- Collect and process both clinical and forensic specimens accurately.
- Prepare and label specimens for laboratory testing.
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintain required records.
- Provide exceptional customer service while creating a positive patient experience.
- Explain collection procedures and help patients feel comfortable throughout the process.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Follow company policies, quality standards, and confidentiality guidelines.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting productivity goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required).
- Experience performing pediatric and geriatric blood draws.
- Strong data entry and keyboarding skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call as needed.
- 1+ years of phlebotomy experience.
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
- Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; required only in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment.
