Job Type: local contract
Contract Length: 3 months + Contract to Hire
Pay Range: $18/hr to $19/hr

*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.
Duties:

  • Perform venipunctures using straight and/or butterfly needles.
  • Collect, label, centrifuge, split, freeze, store, and package specimens according to established procedures.
  • Collect other specimens, including urine and fecal samples, as required.
  • Verify physician orders, requisitions, and computer labels for accuracy.
  • Properly explain blood draw and specimen collection procedures to patients.
  • Maintain specimen integrity and follow temperature and transportation requirements.
  • Record maintenance data and perform equipment decontamination.
  • Update patient information and answer telephone inquiries.
  • Read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
  • Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and attend required annual training.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, training, and workflow recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where the employee will be working, as required in some states.
  • laboratory or hospital setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of experience.
