PhD Physicist

Apply advanced physics expertise to help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems through rigorous research, scientific analysis, and clear communication of complex concepts.

This remote contract role supports an advanced physics research and AI training project. You will investigate matter and energy, develop and explain physical theories, and contribute research-backed input that helps AI systems learn, reason, and perform. No prior AI experience is required, your physics expertise is the focus.

• Conduct in-depth research on fundamental and applied physics topics, including current developments in the field.
• Analyze experimental data and interpret findings to support robust physical theories.
• Create clear, detailed explanations of complex scientific concepts for AI evaluation and instruction.
• Develop and curate physics educational content for AI training modules.
• Review AI-generated content for conceptual accuracy, clarity, and scientific rigor.
• Collaborate remotely with project stakeholders to refine deliverables and align work with project objectives.
• Provide written and verbal feedback on research outcomes and physics-related questions as part of an iterative training process.

• PhD in Physics or a closely related scientific discipline.
• Experience conducting rigorous scientific research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
• Strong theoretical and experimental physics foundation, with the ability to synthesize and communicate complex ideas.
• Excellent critical-thinking, problem-solving, research, and teaching skills, with close attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and an interest in science education and outreach.
• Experience developing or delivering university-level or advanced undergraduate physics instruction is a plus.
• Comfort collaborating remotely on multidisciplinary projects.

• Remote contract engagement.

• $70 to $90 per hour.
