PhD Physicist for AI Training

Apply advanced physics expertise to help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems through rigorous research, clear scientific explanations, and critical review. This remote contractor opportunity centers on advanced physics research and scientific communication, with no prior AI experience required.

You will investigate matter and energy, develop and explain physical theories, and translate complex concepts into high-quality input for AI instruction and evaluation. The work is well suited to physicists who value research, critical analysis, teaching, and science communication.

• Conduct in-depth research on fundamental and applied physics topics, including current developments in the field.
• Analyze experimental data and interpret findings that support robust physical theories.
• Create clear, detailed explanations of complex physics concepts for AI evaluation and instructional use.
• Help create and curate physics educational content for AI training modules.
• Review AI-generated physics content for conceptual accuracy, clarity, and scientific rigor.
• Collaborate remotely with project stakeholders to refine deliverables and align work with project objectives.
• Provide written and verbal feedback on research outcomes and physics-related questions as part of an iterative AI-training process.

• PhD in Physics or a closely related scientific discipline.
• Demonstrated rigorous scientific research experience and peer-reviewed publications.
• Strong theoretical and experimental physics foundation, with the ability to synthesize and communicate complex ideas.
• Excellent critical-thinking, problem-solving, research, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an interest in science education and outreach.
• Experience developing or delivering university-level or advanced undergraduate physics instruction is preferred.
• Comfort working collaboratively in a remote, multidisciplinary research environment.
